How to change boarding station in IRCTC new website | Change boarding point for confirmed and wait listed tickets in Indian railways

The Indian Railway introduced a new facility to change the train station from the station at the last moment after booking the tickets. This facility can be obtained through an IRCTC website and their mobile App IRCTC mobile connect.

Train tickets from one city to another can be booked for a reasonable time. At that time, they can change their ticket's boarding station to another railway station on their way to their destination.

As the workload of the people has now increased, there are sudden changes in their travels. Hence, the Railways has come up with a new facility to change the train station in the last hours after ticket booking. Previously one can change the boarding point 24 hours before departure of the train. Now we can change the boarding point 4 hours before the departure of trains.

Charges to change the boarding point
No additional charges will be charged for changing the boarding point.

How to change the Boarding point

1. Log in to the IRCTC website with your login ID and password.
2. Click on the option ‘Booking Ticket History’.
3. You will be redirected to the Booked Train Tickets page. There you can select the appropriate train for which you want to change your boarding point -- select the train in the radio button. Before selecting make sure you are selecting the correct train.
4. Click on the ‘Change Boarding Point’ button.
5. You will be redirected to the ‘Change Boarding Point’ page and where you can see the train details for which you want to modify the boarding station.
6. Select New Boarding Station from the drop-down menu under the Change Boarding Station section.

Terms and conditions for online change of Boarding Point:

1. Passenger who has booked etickets can change his Boarding station online before 4 hours of the scheduled departure of the train
2. In case a passenger has changed the boarding point he will lose all the rights to board the train from the original boarding point. If found travelling without any proper authority to travel, passenger will have to pay fare with penalty between original boarding point to changed boarding point.
3. Boarding point change is allowed only once.
4. Boarding station can be changed before 24 hours of the scheduled departure of train.
5. Boarding point change is not allowed if ticket is seized.
6. Boarding point change is not allowed for the PNRs with VIKALP option.
7. Online boarding point change is not allowed for I-Ticket.
8. Boarding point change is not allowed for current booking ticket.
